Quick Tip: Measuring a Hydraulic Filter Element

A set of calipers is all that’s required to accurately measure a hydraulic filter element.

• Measure the Outer Diameter (O.D.) across the end cap
• Measure the Inner Diameter (I.D.) at the center hole (core opening)
• Confirm the I.D. is consistent top-to-bottom
• Note the end cap style
• Measure the length from top end cap edge to bottom end cap edge
• Note any model numbers or identifying markings
• Confirm if a center core (perforated tube) is present
